If you are a single adult, regardless of your age or circumstances, we invite you to join us on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. for Bible study and at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays for Sunday School. The singles ministry at FBCJ will help you to grow spiritually as you learn more about God and spend time with other Christian singles.
If you're single and would like to know more about ministry and fellowship opportunities for singles at FBCJ, contact Steve Barrios by phone 615-400-4513 or email.

Collegiate
Join us for a discussion-driven Bible study on Sunday mornings called Collegiate. It is part of Lifeway's Threads offerings, and we believe you will find it to be fresh, engaging and relevant. (Note: Despite what the name implies, it's not just for college students. The studies cover a wide variety of subject matter, relevant to all young adults.)
Collegiate is presented in a magazine format that provides a refreshing
combination of Bible study and feature articles centered on biblical truth and
issues. With biblical depth and practical advice for the realities of daily life,
students will be challenged to study God's Word, make a difference in the world,
and deepen their walk with Christ. Collegiate’s daily devotionals give
students the opportunity to stay connected with the topic of their Bible study
throughout the week and encourage the disciplines of daily Bible reading and
prayer.
On Wednesdays we meet in the Family Life Center a little before 6:30 p.m. From there we will go to Room 1104 to attend The Truth Project, a 12-week, video-driven class beginning, Wednesday, January 20.
In a recent study, the Barna Research Group revealed a stunning
statistic that continues to reverberate throughout the evangelical
world. Only 9 percent of professing Christians have a biblical worldview.
Because of this, today's believers live very similarly to nonbelievers.
A personal sense of significance is rarely experienced, we
spend our money and time on things that fail to satisfy, and we
begin to wonder what life's ultimate purpose really is. We are, in
short, losing our bearings as a people and a nation. To counter this
slide within the body of Christ, Focus on the Family has launched
one of the most ambitious and powerful projects in the history of
our ministry — The Truth Project. With lessons taught by Dr. Del Tackett, this study is the starting point for looking at life from a
biblical perspective. Each lesson discusses in great detail the
relevance and importance of living the Christian worldview in daily life. Lessons Include:
Lesson 1 - Veritology: What is Truth?
Lesson 2 - Philosophy and Ethics: Says Who?
Lesson 3 - Anthropology: Who is Man?
Lesson 4 - Theology: Who is God?
Lesson 5 - Science: What is True?
Lesson 6 - History: Whose Story?
Lesson 7 - Sociology: The Divine Imprint
Lesson 8 - Unio Mystica: Am I Alone?
Lesson 9 - The State: Whose Law?
Lesson 10 - The American Experiment: Stepping Stones
Lesson 11 - Labor: Created to Create
Lesson 12 - Community and Involvement: God Cares, do I?
