Mother's Day Out (MDO) is a ministry of FBCJ, providing quality childcare to parents of preschoolers age 3 months to pre-Kindergarten.
SCHEDULE:Now Available Two Days Per Week! Mother's
Day Out meets on Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during the
months of August through May. FBCJ also offers a summer MDO session during June and
July (also on Tuesday and Thursday from 9 until 2).
REGISTRATION:We have had a few spots open up and are now taking registrations to fill them. For your convenience, you may register
online. There is a non-refundable $25 registration fee per child that must accompany the application form. We will also need a copy of their health/immunization record on file. You can have your pediatrician fax the “yellow card” directly to the church office. Please note: Children will be assigned to classes on a first come, first served basis. Turning in an application does not guarantee a space in MDO. If you wish, you may call 876-8763 prior to registration to check on availability.
STAFF: Each classroom will have a minimum of two caregivers. All staff are carefully screened, including a criminal background check and drug test. All staff are trained in infant/child First Aid and CPR.
FEES/TUITION: Tuition is $15 per day per child, and $12 per day for any siblings. If you must temporarily withdraw your child due to health issues or other reasons, the full tuition must be paid to reserve their space. Tuition is due by the 10th of each month. Overdue accounts will be assessed a $10 late fee.
CURRICULUM: For ages 2 to pre-K, we will be using the Wee Learn curriculum from Lifeway, designed especially for Mother's Day Out programs.
SUPPLIES & FOOD: Children need to bring their own lunch and drinks each day. Finger foods are best, and all drinks must be in spill proof containers and labeled with the child's name. We will provide a healthy snack mid-morning. Children will also need a rest mat or blanket for nap time. Please send extra clothing for your child as well in case of spills or accidents. All belongings should be clearly labeled.
ILLNESS: Children showing any sign of illness (fever, coughing, diarrhea, vomiting, etc.) should be kept home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours. If a child becomes ill while at Mother's Day Out, a parent or authorized adult will be called to pick up the child immediately. We do not administer any medications at MDO, and none should be kept in their diaper bags or backpacks.
FIRST AID/MEDICAL EMERGENCY: Our staff will administer basic first aid if needed. In the case of a medical emergency, we will contact the parents first, and if unsuccessful, the designated emergency contact second. For life-threatening emergencies, EMS will be called. Please inform the director of any phone number or address changes throughout the year.
INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the case of inclement weather, you may call the Preschool/MDO office directly at 876-8763 after 6:30 a.m. for information about closing. Should there be a need to close MDO early, the director will contact parents via phone. You may also watch the major network news stations for information about closing.
SECURITY: The church building remains locked at all times, and can be entered by activating the intercom system at the front entrance. Outside doors to classrooms also remain locked. Children are released only to a parent or guardian unless prior written authorization is given. You must sign your child in/out at the Welcome Center in the lobby.
DISCIPLINE POLICY: Our greatest desire is that the Mother's Day Out ministry at First Baptist Church Joelton be a safe and enjoyable place for your child to grow developmentally, socially, and spiritually. Corporal punishment will not be used at First Baptist Church Joelton. We believe most mis-behaviors can be handled quickly and quietly within the classroom setting.
