Mathew 16:3 describes a confrontation between Jesus and the Pharisees over
their demand for a sign from heaven. In the Scripture, Jesus says, “You know
how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs
of the times.” Even today, religious leaders and Christians are asked to provide
insight into the times in which we are living and God's plan for the future.
In order to interpret the signs we are seeing in our current time what they mean for the future,
we must understand the importance of Israel and its role in history and in
the fulfillment of prophecy.
Joel Rosenberg is the New York Times bestselling author of five novels centered around biblical end times prophecy. The son of a Jewish father and a Gentile mother, Rosenberg is an evangelical Christian speaker and writer. He says the question is not “will there be war in the Middle East, but rather when it will begin and who will strike first.”
On Sunday, June 5, Pastor David Royalty began a series of messages entitled Discerning the Signs of the Times. It will be a journey through Ezekiel, Daniel, Revelation, and the Gospels. We will look at the history detailed in Genesis concerning the descendants of Abraham, Issac, and Ishmael and will identify who those descendants are today and how they will influence the events that will bring about the fulfillment of God's plan. We will explore what is happening now in the Middle East, the beliefs
and impacts of Muslims in our world, and
the events that lead up to and include
the second coming of Christ.
This series will conclude on Sunday, December 11, with Dr.
Mark Gabriel as our guest speaker during
morning worship services. Mark is from Egypt and a
former Muslim and teacher at Al-Azhar
University in Cairo. His heart is to teach
and equip the body of Christ to know how
to distinguish between Islam as a
teaching and Muslims as a people group. (Listen to his message..)

A decade has passed.
We have reached the ten year anniversary of that fateful day, the day we experienced
the greatest loss of life ever at the hands of terrorists on American soil—September
11, 2001. The images of ravaged people and buildings come flooding back to
us as we mark that day in our history. Nineteen hijackers on four airplanes
changed, not only the course of those planes, but also the course of our world.
One of the passengers on Flight 93 led others in reciting The Lord’s Prayer
and then led a group to retake the plane. His last known words, “Let’s
Roll!” quickly became America's rallying cry.
During each Sunday morning in September, we will continue in our series Discerning the Signs of the Times with four special messages that center around the the events of 9-11; the ten years of war that have followed; and the significance of Israel in the midst of it all.
As we remember what happened ten years ago, our nation and world are going through some of the most major economic and political upheavals ever. We need to hear and know that our God gives us hope and comfort. The great difference between Muslims and Christians is: the Koran teaches its followers how to die and hate, whereas the Bible teaches us how to live and love.
A CITY ON ITS KNEES: The following is a video written and created by one of our church members, Jeff
Richfield, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the events of September 11, 2001. May we never forget! Please pray for a spiritual awakening in our nation ... one city at a time.
SPECIAL PROJECT: As part of our goal to recognize all of our
soldiers who have died during the ten year conflict, we are creating a special
flag with all of the 6,199 names of those killed overseas. We are asking that
you write the names of 16 soldiers on a piece of fabric that we will supply on
Sunday morning, September 4. The fabric will then be sewn into a flag, presented,
and flown on the church flagpole beginning Sept. 25. Then, it will be put on
display in the church.
