In the book of Leviticus, the children of Israel were
instructed to bring a special offering to the Lord at
the start of each harvest season. This offering was a
statement of faith. It was called “first fruits” because
it represented the first portion of much more to
come. This biblical principle applies to our giving as
Christians. When we offer our gifts to the Lord, we
are saying that all we have belongs to him, and we
believe the Lord will provide for all our needs.
We will celebrate our annual First Fruits Fellowship on Sunday, July 17 in the
Family Life Center at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is welcome and asked to bring breads,
baked goods, preserves, fresh fruits and vegetables or your favorite casserole
or dessert. The church will provide drinks.
