Ministry Connections
The goal of INTERFACE is to reach women who have a strong desire and commitment to study the Bible and serve along with other Christian women in our church. The program includes an intense personal Bible study coupled with practical living skills in small intimate group settings. It involves a 3-year commitment of two 12-week sessions per year. It is family friendly in that it will begin the last week of August and end in the middle of November. We do not resume meetings until the middle of January and end in April. Times of these meetings will be determined by the individual leaders, and child care will be provided. This is not a “drop by when you feel like it” Bible Study. Meetings are approximately 2 hours each week. The rewards of being personally accountable to someone else to be in the Word on a daily basis will be just one of the blessings we will get from this study. If you have a strong desire to know the Bible better, have a closer relationship with the Lord, and develop strong Christian friendships, we invite you to explore this unique way of studying God’s Word.
We are presently in our 6th semester of INTERFACE. Our topics this semester will be Spiritual Direction, Spiritual Gifts, and Spiritual Growth. The Bible study continues in Mark. If you are interested in joining us when our next semester begins or would like more information, contact Carol Ashford (938-0630) or Carolyn Ellis (210-7630).
Have you ever wondered if someone you knew but can no longer speak with because they passed on was a Christian? The goal of this class is to leave a written legacy of our faith to show future generations God working in and through our lives and pointing them to the Lord. This is a journey that will take a little time and thought, but the end result will be handed down to future generations to speak for you when they can no longer hear your voice.
This group meets each Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Salt House for a short Bible study on a different topic each week, as we explore and record how God has worked in the lives of our families. . If you have never scrapbooked before, that’s okay, we can learn together! Please bring photos of yourself the first week. If you plan to attend, need a list of supplies, or want more information, contact Linda Carol Royalty at 615-876-4643.
Welcome to the Women’s Ministry of First Baptist Church Joelton!
Our mission is to reach women for Christ and mature them in their faith through prayer, Bible study and discipleship. It is also our desire to support the entire mission of our church.
The Women’s Ministry strives to:
- equip local church women to enrich the lives of other women through Christ
- help women discover their God-given gifts for ministry, determine needs in their communities, and match those needs with their gifts of service; and
- lead women to accept Christ as Lord, become women of deep prayer, and become women who study the Bible and base their lives on the Word of God.
Along the way we will laugh a lot and develop many new friendships. We encourage you to become involved as we carry out our tasks and mission. Please contact Janet Brinson, by email or by phone (615-642-8445), and share your heart with other sisters in Christ!
We are making plans for new programs that will meet the diverse needs of our women. Be sure to check this page often, as new things are added. Please email Kathy Denton to be placed on our email contact list for upcoming event information.
Guiding Verse: “To prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:12-13
Are you an avid hunter, fisherman or general outdoorsman? If so, this group is for you! FBCJ’s Christian Sportsmen ministry consists of sportsmen who are united in their passion for the great outdoors and their love of Jesus. Through this common interest, they hope to lead others to the salvation that only Christ can provide. This ministry provides men with practical tools for building lasting relationships based on common interests, lifestyles enhanced by character building discipleship, and a creative forum for introducing others to the Christian lifestyle.
Christian Sportsmen activities and events include a number of annual fundraisers (Wild Game Tasting, Labor Day Barbeque Sale, Annual fish Fry, etc.) that provide fellowship opportunities and support for the ministries of FBCJ. For more information, call Jimmy Bonner at 574-5096 or Gary Jenkins at 633-2851.
