FBCJ Community Art Festival April 15 - 17 in the Salt House
** The Registration Deadline has been extended to April 9 **
Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs. —Psalm 100:1-2
Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and
lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of
cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.
—Psalm 150:1-6
This FBCJ event is open to the community and will be centered on
the theme, Praise Him, inspired by the Scriptures Psalm 150:1-6 and
Psalm 100:1-2. Works can be rendered using modern day depictions, but must be spiritually/faith-based and suggest praises to the Lord.
NOTE: This does not mean that the subject matter must be "religious" per se. For example, depictions of God's creation (landscape, water, sky, animals, people, etc.) are all worthy of praise to Him. In addition, imagery that elicits feelings of joy, peace, happiness, comfort, etc. can also fall under our theme. In other words, we are looking for art that is uplifting and positive and could be viewed as a praise to God, but it does not have to be overtly religious.
