On Sunday, August 1, FBCJ officially celebrated 95 years of
ministry. It was a special celebration and we were happy to have so many in attendance.
Dr. James “Jimbo” Dean as the guest speaker in the 9:30 service;
David Simmerman was the guest speaker at 11:00 a.m. service; and Brooke Voland
and Kim & Dudley Morton provided the special music in both
services. A covered-dish lunch was held following each service.
James “Jimbo” Dean served as youth minister at FBCJ from 1989 until 1993. He is currently the pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church, Owensboro KY. Listen to Jim Dean's message. (mp3)
David “Daveman” Simmerman served FBCJ as Youth Minister from 1998 until
2004, when he transitioned to the position of Associate Pastor, which he held
until 2007. He is currently Connections Pastor at First Baptist Church, Columbia,

Commemorative T-Shirt - A commemorative 95th Anniversary t-shirt was created for this special event. If you did not get one, there are a few remaining (sizes are limited to children's sizes and 2X and 3X adult sizes only). Suggested donations are $10 for adult, $8 for children, or a family pack of four t-shirts for $30. (For families with more than two children, additional children's shirts can be purchased for $6.)
